I always held Brett in as high esteem as I thought he deserved, that of a guy that played long enough to set records, both good and bad. However, five days shy of his 40th birthday, he proved that he is far better than I gave him credit for. With the exception of an ill advised pass with less than two minutes left, of which I would bet he audiblized, his control of his offense was stellar. I tip my hat to Brett.
Tonight the Tigers lost to the Twinkees. Now the Twinkees are about to play a juggernaut in the Yankmees. I don't see this being a good series. I think the Red Sox/Angels will be the best series of the four of them, although if there is a surprise series I think it will be the Rockies/Phillies. I don't see the Dodgers posting up much of a fight against the Cardinals.
