My nephew said to me...
Way back when, when Gonzaga lost a close game to Michigan state that Michigan State didn't deserve to be in the top ten and that by the end of the year they wouldn't be. I tried to remind him that after they got out of the pre-league schedule, nothing would stop them, so if they could be close to the top ten after ten games they would climb into the top seed in the midwest or west, to which, today they stand at number 6. What I think he failed to understand is that they have one of the premier coaches in basketball, of which there are only about ten of those.

As though God made the decision
The prodigal son's son has come back to lay seige on the homeland. What better storyline could there be than a Manning coming back to New Orleans to ruin the dream of a sad sack team. The endings are too many to imagine.

I had to let it all soak in.
As I watched the bowl season unfold, I had to let it all soak in before I responded to how I felt. The Championship game was a disappointment. I didn't then and don't now feel that Alabama was a special team. I think they tripped into a championship. McCoy getting hurt on the fifth play ruined what could have been a great game. Even so, a freshman was three points away from winning that game with only five minutes to go. Forget the score, asswipe Saban ran up the score for the posterity of future readings. Anyone that watched the game knows that 37-20 doesn't tell the story. I was irked that the bowl officials pitted TCU and BOISE. Why do that. Let them both play majors. Playing each other allows everyone to say, "They didn't play anyone." And they got their point across with Cincinnati, however, we all know that program was in collapse when Kelly was forced out for taking the ND job. BOISE or TCU vs Florida would have been a much better game, however, I would love to have seen a Nebraska/Florida game myself. The Pac 10 didn't fare well, and the truth is, I had Ohio in the Rose Bowl to beat UO. I know you can scroll down and see I took UO, but I put money on Ohio. In total, I bet against the SEC across the board, and bet on USC, Stanford, OSU, and Cal. Needless to say, I didn't fare too well.
